We are proud to reveal the 'Highly Commended Artists' for the 2010 Freedom to Create Prize. The 2010 Highly Commended Artists will be honoured by Freedom to Create throughout the year and a selection of Visual Art from the Highly Commended artists will tour the world as the "2010 Freedom to Create Prize Exhibition". Taken from the book "Voices of courage": "Matteo's unflinching photographs of children in a hospital specialising in chronic illnesses in a small rural community in Croatia, are a reminder to the rest of the world of the existence of such neglected hospitals and their inhabitants. Through his work he hopes to encourage greater support for these institutions. Matteo's photographs capture the 'silent scream' of these sick children, and encourage viewers to support the need to respect their right to co-exist with others in society".
